Woolsey and Hamilton

camping-155_1.jpg A few weeks ago Frankie found an entire block of abandoned and crumbling greenhouses out by McLaren Park. Nothing to do but hop on the bicycles and go poke around.

True enough, its a city-sized block of decaying buildings in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Gave us the same sort of glee as finding a fiver in your pocket just in time for last call.

To make things even more awesome, some of the collapsed spaces were completely overrun with roses.

Found a hole in the fence and nosed around a bit but the brambles were too thick to negotiate far and the ground was pretty saturated with broken glass. Even the greenhouses that hadn't collapsed looked mostly impenetrable...must've been left to their own devices for quite some time.

No one wants to live at 666 Hamilton? We'll take it, looks like it comes with a small forest for a yard.

Still interested? Look up the intersection of Hamilton and Woolsey Streets on google earth or mosey your way over, just beware of glass and remember that trespassing is still technically against the law. Bummer.
